Lance Bass is excited about starting a family with his husband of four years, Michael Turchin.
But first the two need to make some important decisions – from picking the perfect egg donor, to deciding upon their future child’s last name.
At DailyMail.com & DailyMailTv’s Summer Party on Wednesday night, Lance opened up about his journey to fatherhood – and why it means there won’t be an NSYNC reunion for at least ten years.
Happy couple: Lance Bass is excited about starting a family with his husband of four years, Michael Turchin
Explaining that the two had already found the perfect surrogate to carry their child, Lance revealed they now had to pick an egg donor.
The 39-year-old told DailyMail.com: ‘We have the surrogate right now and we’re just looking for the egg donor. So once we find that egg donor we’re ready to go.’
But selecting the donor – the biological mother of their future child – isn’t a decision they take lightly.
‘You look through a lot, a lot of profiles,’ said Lance.
It won’t be me: At DailyMail.com & DailyMailTv’s Summer Party on Wednesday night, Lance opened up about his journey to fatherhood – and why it means there won’t be an NSYNC reunion for at least ten years
Painter and actor Michael is doing most of the work.
Michael laughed: ’Its like dating profiles honestly, it’s like a Tinder of eggs.’
Lance said the priority was a healthy genetic background for their baby.
‘You’re looking for the healthiest people. You look at the grandparents on both sides. You look for health first. And then you look at “Oh she’s tall”. That’s great because I’m not. You piece it together.’
And picking a donor takes time, he said. ‘We’ve gone through a lot of egg donors already. I think we’re on our fourth that we’re looking at right now. It could take a while.’

The singer said his husband would be the one to make the final decision
‘He’s the decision maker for sure. I believe in fate so I’ll take whatever egg I can get.’
Once the couple do have a baby on the way, they will have plenty more decisions to make, including a family name for their child.
‘We haven’t really decided that yet,’ Lance admitted. ‘We might hyphenate our last name. It’s not a good hyptheantion, Turchin-Bass. We’ll probably do Turchin-Bass and then they get to decide which one they use.’
If the couple give their child the final choice, Michael suspects he knows which name they will choose.
Funny: Michael laughed: ’Its like dating profiles honestly, it’s like a Tinder of eggs’
‘They’ll probably pick Bass, just because you know,’ he said, referring to his husband’s fame.
But Lance disagreed, pointing out that children sometimes tease one another.
‘People will make fun and be like “Ass”.’
Michael said: ’Well I grew up with Turchin and people called me Turkey.’
‘Well Turkey’s better than Ass,’ replied Lance, laughing.
While Lance couldn’t be more excited about his future family, the baby fever does mean whispers of an NSYNC reunion are far from true.
Party people: The couple were joined by Tom Schwartz (left) and Tom Sandoval
Lance explained that although he might one day consider the idea, it was just not the right time.
’I would rule it out right now because we’re having babies and I ain’t going on tour with little infants,’ he said, adding ‘If there’s a reunion give me ten years guys.’
As for Michael, he would love to see NSYNC get back together.
The 31-year-old said he had been a big fan of the band – back when he was in Middle School.
Hosts with the most: Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd, along with her new business partners Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz, have been working hard for more than a year to launch the venue
‘Oh my god huge,’ he told DailyMailTV, before Lance butted in to say: ‘He was a Backstreet fan, lets be honest now.’
Outraged, Michael joked: ‘I don’t wanna get in a fight with you Lance. Yes I was at first a Backstreet fan and then I transitioned into a NYSNC fan.
‘I liked NSYNC when I was a middle school, 12 and above. I’ve tried to explain this to him, he just wont believe me.’
Talk of reunions aside, the couple have plenty of support in planning their family, with close friend Lisa Vanderpump already designating herself any child’s ‘godmother’.
Said Lance: ’We’ve decided we’re not going to do godparents because we have a lot of people in our lives that would be perfect for it. But Lisa’s already deemed herself godmother, which is totally fine, because she’ll be the best godmother.’
Emmy nominated: Alicia Quarles (left) and Brandi Williams of DailyMailTV stunned at the star-studded event
Lance and Michael join Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Lisa and her husband Ken Todd for dinner at least once a week – with the pair calling her a ‘great cook – and think of her as family.
They were at Wednesday’s party to support Lisa and Ken, as they opened their new bar TomTom.
‘You think she would let us not come?’ said Lance. ‘If we didn’t show up she would have us in the dog house.’
The DailyMail.com and DailyMailTV summer party was held at LA’s hottest new bar and lounge TomTom – which opened its doors for the very first time just for the event.
It is the newest Vanderpump establishment in West Hollywood, California.
Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd, along with her new business partners Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz, have been working hard for more than a year to launch the venue.
Nick Alain, a Miami-based industrial designer and creative director, helped to bring Vanderpump’s vision for the bar to life while Sandoval and Schwartz have been developing signature cocktails.
Last year, Vanderpump offered Sandoval and Schwartz a chance to go into business– they both agreed to put in $50,000 each for 5 percent stake in the bar.
Vanderpump and her husband also own LA restaurants SUR, Villa Blanca and PUMP.
