Back to being a teenager! Lucy Hale, 28, strips off her makeup and wears a long dark wig to look 15-years-old for new movie Life Sentence

Lucy Hale is a 28-year-old actress with a lot of life experience and a solid career under her belt, including a starring role on TV’s Pretty Little Liars.

But for her new movie Life Sentence the actress has to play a 15-year-old version of her character, Aiden Abbott, in several scenes.

And on Tuesday the brunette beauty was seen in character as a teen on the Vancouver set.

Is that you Lucy? Ms Hale looked very different with no makeup on as she filmed Life Sentence in Vancouver on Tuesday

Her party look: The 28-year-old on the carpet for the Teen Choice Awards in August

The transformation was convincing.

Lucy wore almost no makeup and had on a long raven-colored wig – she normally has a bob – to look more youthful.

She also had on a cute pink rain jacket with a matching pink knit hat that looked like normal staples for a high school girl.

What movie magic does: The star on set, left, and at a Hollywood event, tight

A beige and white coat as well as maroon slacks rounded out her look.

Her scene took place on a dock as she was having fun with her co-star Jayson Blair.

They hugged and at one point he picked her up to twirl her around as if they were having a playful, fun time.

It also looked as if he was going to throw her in the water.

Don’t let go! He almost dropped the TV star as he dangled her over the edge of the dock

She told Elle in May that it’s been a cultural change moving to LA.

‘I’m from Tennessee. So a lot of people there think the same, which is fine if you think that way. When I moved to L.A., I was exposed to different ways of thinking, different views, different ways of life.

‘And I felt way more at home in L.A. I always thought I felt differently than the views I grew up around. And L.A., New York, D.C., they’re almost like their own little worlds. I was in New York on Election Day and it was the most bizarre energy I’ve ever felt in my life. It was very strange. I go back home, and I’m from Memphis, and it’s just not the same.

So much action: The camera stayed on them as they goofed around nonstop

Break: They looked relazed when taking a moment out from filming

Done: Here Lucy held on to a cup of coffee as she walked back up the dock

She also gets homesick.

‘I go home as often as I can. I’m super close to my family. And there are aspects of it that I miss. I’ll go home and see people that have 9-to-5 jobs and these quote-unquote “simple lives” and I think, Oh, that must be so nice! And I love my family so much, and they’re just really good people.

‘But LA will always be my home. I’ve always felt like the black sheep of my family, and I feel like this is more where I belong.

‘I love going home to get grounded and get a sense of reality again. But I love LA. This is where I ultimately grew up. I moved here at 15. So in a few years I’ll have lived here longer than I lived in Memphis.’

Her family: Lucy with ‘all mah girls; most likely back home in Tennessee
